| Introduction | Welcome to Faraway! I will use this space to share information about antique dolls - their history, their stories, and their care. FARAWAY ANTIQUE SHOP offers fine antique dolls and childhood related items. For the past ten years, Faraway has been part of the Ruby Lane online group shop: http://www.faraway.rubylane.com. I also have an informational web site at www.farawayantiqueshop.com I am a Graduate Gemologist and a qualified jewelry appraiser, although I do not currently work in this field. This basically means that I now admire very high quality gems and jewelry that I cannot afford, and that I would have absolutely no opportunity to wear. My husband, Jeff, is a Registered Maine Guide, and along with our Springer Spaniels, we enjoy many outdoor activities, such as kayaking, canoeing, snowmobiling, fishing and hiking. We live part-time at Chesuncook lake, which is very remote with no land lines, no reliable cell service, and no electricity. We do have gas appliances, solar power, and a satellite internet connection. So I am able to operate Faraway Antique Shop even from this remote location. |
