Introduction	I am a recent law school graduate who chose to serve her three-year sentence in the District of Columbia. Despite frequently being described as "picky"--one of the many pejoratives I secretly consider a compliment--I am actually obsessed with food. I suffered severe gustatory shock when I moved to Washington from the gastronomic paradise known as Boston. This disillusionment has driven me to cooking my own meals (and even more surprisingly, washing my own dishes). Join me as I celebrate one of life's greatest pleasures and attempt to create simple but satisfying dishes on a shoestring budget, perhaps pontificating a bit in the process. N.B.: I have a terrible habit of not measuring things, but I will try to provide measurements (or at least approximations or proportions) in this blog.
