| Introduction | Hello there, my name is Luce leBeau. Only recently I have become a data analyst.. However, in reverse chronological order, I have been a hotel receptionist, night porter, film poster designer, movie editor, account manager, psychologist, journalist, copy editor, currency dealer, nomad, cannon fodder, taxi driver, and waiter.. Apart from the military, my time spent as receptionist and night porter were the worst, but nevertheless necessary to accomplish a bit of my writing. The novel I am currently working on, named (work title) ‘Destiny Unknown’, is situated in Australia and set in the early eighties. A time still devoid of internet, cellular phones, and overpopulation. The tragicomic novel describes my follies and manifold downfalls. In those times my main profession was nomad, mainly in the existential sense. While doing my surveys of life, even more professions came and went: canvasser, door-to-door artist, gigolo, catamaran instructor, stuntman stand-in, banana picker, cocktail barman.. Yes, my wanderings nearly killed me dozens of times, but somehow I always resurrected with a maddening smile.. ‘cause as they say: Only the good die young. |
