I truly value and appreciate my wonderful friends -- many of whom I miss very much since we are no longer in the same community. | Favorite movies | I recently watched Blue Butterfly, which was wonderful in many ways. Other favs: Burn After Reading, Mamma Mia, Planet Earth, the Jane Austen series, John Adams series, the Dark Knight, Juno, 3:10 to Yuma, Crash, Painted Veil, The Kite Runner, The Illusionist, The Namesake, Miss Potter Going back a bit: Forrest Gump, Anne of Green Gables, Love Comes Softly, Il Postino, Gandhi, Whale Rider, Mindwalk, Waking Life I can't watch anything scary, too violent, or horribly depressing – oops, guess that leaves out a lot! |

| Favorite books | Chuckled a lot through the silly jokes in Plato and a Platypus Walk Into a Bar ... by Thomas Cathcart and Daniel Klein. Recently finished Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon – a little hard to get through but it was worth it in the end.
