| Introduction | I never expected city living to be easy, or cheap. But when I see a girl my age hailing a cab (I always take the subway), buying Nars lipsticks in every shade of the rainbow, and opening the door to her apartment on 12th St. and 6th Ave. (are you kidding me!), I can't help wonder...how the hell can she afford it? So, here's to the big spenders out there. I am happy you can have it all. But now is a time to be frugal. I wonder - how high is your debt? What are your parents giving you a month? Don’t you have any student loans? Hey, I’m living in New York City, I have nice clothes, I go to dinner, I have a life. However, unlike many New Yorkers, living the lux life today could burn you down the road. So I’m trying to figure out how to "make it" on a meager salary, and still save some in the end. |
