IntroductionI've been singing and teaching singing, and writing about singing for a really long time. I have probably taught or coached more than 500 students along the way. I have arrived at a place where one would think I should relax and sip Mai Tai's down on the beach, but I don't want to do that. I am consumed by the desire to tell singers everywhere that the gift they have, (if indeed they DO have a gift) is there to be used to make the world better...to heal unhappiness, to end suffering, to reverse cynicism, and to feel personal joy. Too many young singers just "wanna be famous". I hear this all the time from my readers. It's all well and good to have goals, but what I try to get across is that the DOING of the talent, with total joy and sharing IS what will lead to the success desired. It's the journey, not the finish line that I am talking about.

If you drive on a parkway why don't they make the whole plane out of that?
