| Introduction | I have the most important job in the world.... I'm a Mum & I LOVE IT!! Apart from that I work for a division of Rio-Tinto running a small rail yard. When I say small I mean the trains are 2.5Km long!! But it is a 1man (woman) operation. The yard is responsible for organising the arrival, loading & departure of Iron-ore trains that carry dirt from the Mesa-J deposit in the Pilbara, Western Australia. The ore travels on a 200km long railway line to Cape Lambert where it is then shipped (predominantly) to China. The rail network for the company I work for is the largest privately owned rail network in the world. The trains also hold the record for being the longest (& heaviest) in the world.... so I'm told. The job is very busy but enjoyable & the shifts are about 13hrs including travel. There is a lot of work & responsibility involved in the role, but it still isn't as cool as being a Mum :) When I'm not at work, or looking after my little boy.... or cleaning the house (a never-ending job) I'm out in the garden or down the road taking cutting from plants, or out bush collecting cow poo....
