IntroductionI first began working with clay in 1974 and was immediately captivated by this amazing material. Malleable in its wet state, hard and durable after it is fired, it is a medium of unending investigation and wonder. All of my pieces are individually created on the potters' wheel or with traditional hand-building methods. Each piece is hand-crafted with great care and thought, equal consideration given to both function and aesthetic. My work is then fired to Cone 10 (2400 degrees F.) resulting in durable stoneware that is oven, dishwasher and microwave safe. My goal is to create pottery that is handled often and enjoyed for many years, enhancing the lives of the people who use it and bringing a delight to the daily rituals of life.
