Occupation | Licensed Veternary Technician |
Location | Cannon Falls, Minnesota, United States |
Introduction | I have spent over 17 years in the veterinary field as a licensed vet. tech. I have worked in zoo's, private practices, equine only and finally a few years as a vet. tech program coordinator/instructor. A few too many ruptured discs now prevent me from working in this profession. It has always been my dream to have a farm, and I always thought a creek on the property would be the icing on the cake. 2006 brought with it more than a few major life changes, divorce, death in the family, job change etc. It also brought me the opportunity to purchase a small farm in Cannon Falls Minnesota, which happens to have a creek run through the property, hence the farm's name, DreamRiver Farm. |
Interests | My goal at DreamRiver Farm is to "improve the future by preserving the past." We are interested in stewarding our land to enable it to recover from the overuse it had suffered previous to us. Preserve the rights of small farmers, which are rapidly encroached by governement. Raise the majority of our food by ourselves and to raise heritage breed livestock. Our animals are all free range, living as they were developed to live. Grazing animals having access to pasture 24x7, which allows them to move and exercise as their bodies were designed to do. This allow us to have incredibly healthy animals with no intercession on our part. |
