Introduction I am just like everyone else. I work. I play. I have a family that I love. There's always something to be cleaned or shopped for. The alarm clock goes off too early. These are ordinary things- my business as usual. I also find myself increasingly concerned by the news. As never before, I have the idea that business as usual is in danger of going away. I think of people in other times and places. Leading up to the first and second world wars, ordinary Germans, Russians, Japanese, British, French went about their lives. They shopped for food and made dinner. They checked their children's homework and cleaned dust bunnies from behind the furniture. Then the carpet was pulled out from under them. Cities were bombed. They found themselves homeless and on the run. There was no dinner to cook, no dishes to wash. When times got bad for them, they got really bad. So many didn't survive. I want us to learn from their experience. I want us to supervise our leadership before they have a chance to foul things up as it was almost a century ago. I'm writing this blog, because I don't want incredibly bad things to happen to us.
