| Introduction | Vox Populi is a nom de guerre adopted by this KL native. His political awakening came to him while in school. Amongst others, his political idols are Winston Churchill for his oratorical skills and for galvanising the British public even as the country was being pounded relentlessly by Nazi bombs, Mahatma Gandhi for standing up to the downtrodden and single-handedly ending the colonial rule in India through non-violence means, Nelson Mandela for holding unwaveringly to his beliefs, of which he was unfairly incarcerated for, Lee Kuan Yew for miraculously transforming a 3rd World backwater into a fully developed country all within a generation and Dr. Sun Yat-sen for his revolutionary struggles which culminated in China becoming a Republic. It goes without saying, he thrives on intellectual discourses and is rather pugnacious. While he doesn't expect everybody to agree with his writings, he will readily become an apologist if it means defending his beliefs. The current Malaysia he sees is one that is afflicted with ills. |
