Occupation Retired from publishing sailing and kayaking magazines
Introduction Boating has been my life since joining Sea Scouts in 1963. Sea Scouts gave me a good base of knowledge of boat handling, navigation, safety at sea, marlinspike and rigging, sailing and probably most important learning to live and work with others in very close quarters. From Sea Scouts I worked on tugs as cook, deckhand and mate. College was a time for competitive sailing, making it to nationals in both dinghies and big boats. Before getting into marine publishing I managed a chandlery for a few years. I've been lucky enough to have been able to sail many of the prime cruising grounds in Europe and the South Pacific. As well as getting to test sail new sailboat models as they arrived in the NW.
Interests Boating (canal, sail, and sea kayaking), Bicycling, Hiking, Playing Recorder.
