| Introduction | This is the weblog of an Irish Catholic. Ireland is sometimes known as the Island of Saints and Scholars, hence the title. That was once an apt name for the place, but times have changed. We have far fewer saints or scholars than in times past. One of the aims of this weblog will be to consider the effects of this change. I will also be posting items of interest about the Church beyond the shores of Ireland and on current and cultural affairs. |
