Introduction	The Community Based Rehabilitation Alliance (COMBRA) is an indigenous, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded in 1990, which empowers and advocates for and with persons with disabilities, to ensure their sustainable development through the community based rehabilitation approach. COMBRA is a pioneer in Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) training and has made a significant contribution to the development of disabled people, especially through the promotion of CBR. The Organization’s major involvement within the disability community has been through the on-going development of a human resource base necessary for the implementation of CBR not only in Uganda but across Africa as a whole. The strong knowledge base formed by COMBRA and its many partners has further led to the development of guidelines, policies, training manuals and curricula for various aspects of disability both for governmental and non-governmental organizations.
