| Introduction | This blog is about my plans to make Aliyah in approximately five years. It isn’t so much for you the reader as for me. I want to document what I do and when I do it. I want to talk about the problems I encounter and how I overcome them. And hopefully it will be about the joys and struggles when I finally find myself in the Land of Zion as I believe G-d intended. I am nearing 50 years old. I have a wife and three teen age children. All of whom are good children, do well in school and do not get in trouble. I am at the height of my profession and making a lot of money. I live in suburbia in a nice house in a good community. I belong to a good synagogue and am on the Board of Directors. Most people would envy me and whish to be in my situation. And I can’t stand it. I know I belong somewhere else. I know I belong in Israel. I name this Blog after my favorite Psalm. We are asked a question by the writer. We are asked how we can sing a song of Zion while in foreign land. They were captives in Babylon. Held against their will. I am a captive in the United States. But I am being held by the good life and convenience. Aliyah target date, January 1, 2014. |
