| Introduction | Welcome to 'MainecoonMa', that's ME & this is the life I share with my kids~Murfee (4) & Maizee (2 1/2)~2 Mainecoons, though we think Maiz is 1/2 Bobcat 1/2 Racoon LOL!~Both are rescues and unplanned adoptees. Murf & I found each other in '07 as I was transporting cats for a rescue-he had been saved from the streets & just brought into Petsmart that day. I took him home for a cpl days & we both knew he had found his forever home & I had found my new furbaby. (lost my last cat of 10 yrs just 4 mons prior). In '08 I saw Maiz's picture in the paper as Pet of the Week by the Humane Society-one look @her HUGE paws I knew she had Maine in her. After 2 visits to the shelter to 'feel her out' I HAD to take her also to her forever home-they wouldn't hold her for me-others might be interested. It was NOT planned for Murf to have a mate/sister & I was ambivalent.Murf has become the ALPHA cat, even though Maiz has passed him in weight. Yes they are big cats but goofy as heck-both traits of the Mainecoon. Truth be told, deep down they not only enjoy but truly love each other. |
