| Introduction | Eighteen years ago I began doing what I term "my work". I came to a place in my life where I could no longer lie to myself about how I felt about my life and who I was. Pain forced me to surrender my useless attempts at covering up the truth. I began to face it. In facing it, my life began to transform. I fell so in love with the healing process that I began teaching it right away. Today, I guide and support women in their recovery process. About ten years into my healing process, my daughter, Jody died. Art became a way to heal my grief after losing a child. I had loved art since I was a little girl, but I never believed that I could draw. It wasn't until a few years ago that while looking at a cute drawing that my daughter had made when she was young, that the idea to try to sketch my own drawing, came to me. To my surprise,I found the artist in me. |
