| Introduction | Lori D. Johnson has an M.A. in Urban Anthropology from the University of Memphis. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including The Forge Literary Magazine, Midnight & Indigo, SFWP Quarterly, The Root and Mississippi Folklife. Her recent honors include NELLE Literary Journal’s 2024 “Three Sisters Award” for creative non-fiction, an honorary mention in the 2024 Chapter One Prize of the Gutsy Great Novelist and a 2021 Pushcart Prize nomination by Novel Slices. She lives in Charlotte, NC, but still considers Memphis, TN home. |
