| Introduction | I'm a lifelong reader of historical fiction and fantasy. When I looked for a good novel about Siddharth, the prince who became the Buddha, I couldn't find one, I decided to write my own. My book is an historical fantasy telling the story of Dhara, the daughter of an Arya clan chief, who becomes the prince's wife; her best friend Sakhi, the daughter of a priest; and their spiritual journeys, which reflect and influence Siddharth's. |
