IntroductionSorflatens: Volunteering with CESO opened a world of experience otherwise known only to the culture itself. The blog will take you to a remote ranch in Guyana, Tablas Island in the Philippines, Cameroon and Ethiopia.. February 2015, Guyana, Nov/Dec 2012 in the North West Cameroon with NGO Integrated Development Foundation, Allan conducted two Farm Field Schools in Conservation Farming, Lydia conducted Nutrition Workshops. A highlight of the assignment was attending the opening of the newly renovated school, GS Illum. March, April 2012, the Sorflaten’s spent on Tablas Island, Romblon in the Philippines, returning February 2013. What an opportunity! Working with the people, seeing a largely untouched society, being immersed in a community that has high communal values of conduct and behavior working with a very peace loving people. Seeing agriculture is a historic way the way it was done 100 years ago. Seeing a self reliance in food production (peasant farmers farming small plots) We found people were highly appreciative, acknowledge that we were there to help. Hope you enjoy our blog entries of our experience on Tablas Island, Cameroon,Guyana and Ethiopia.
