IntroductionI was made in America and have been an expat teacher, mother and writer in England for my entire adult life. In recent years tragedy has marked my life in the loss of my teenage daughter Caitlin and then more recently the loss of my beloved life partner who left me. When we were together we often dreamed of a big sailing adventure. Now that I am setting off with my two dear cousin Walter and nephew Scott to sail the Inside Passage from Puget Sound and around the top of Queen Charlotte's Island, then offshore back to Seattle, I feel I am realizing this wonderful dream. We set off in mid-July 2010
