| Introduction | I attended Jack Yates Senior High School from 2001-05. While there, I covered sports for the Crimson Journal for three years and played for the Yates baseball team during my final two years of high school. I attended the Houston Chronicle’s high school journalism workshop the summer before my senior year of high school, and enjoyed it so much that I decided to pursue a career in sports journalism. More so, the Chronicle hired me to work part-time in its online sports department before my senior year, giving me my first professional job. After graduating from Yates, I enrolled at the University of Houston and started covering sports for The Daily Cougar as a freshman. I continued working part-time for the Chronicle, and I’ve been at it since. I also did an internship at the Chronicle during the summer of 2006. I’m now writing a lot more for the Chronicle than I did when I started at the paper almost four years ago. I’m also doing a variety of other projects, including management of the website and standup for videos. |
