Vienna Wong
| Introduction | Vienna Wong is a dance artist, choreographer, interpreter and performer based in Vancouver, BC. She is working towards her BFA degree in Dance at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts. She is trained in varied contemporary dance techniques, including Cunningham, Graham, Horton, Laban and more. She is inspired by many of the local and international dance artists that she has had the privilege to collaborate with, including Vanessa Goodman, Joshua Beamish, Chengxin Wei, KT Niehoff, Judith Garay, Desiree Dunbar, Anya Saugstad, Yossi Berg and Oded Graf. Vienna’s work investigates the dynamics of how different bodies are able to interpret and translate movement. Vienna is the recipient of several SFU service awards through her work as Dance Student Union President, Dance Director of an interdisciplinary show Ascension (2018) and Artistic Director of an upcoming graduating dance show Annorum (2019). |
