| Introduction | I am an Elementary Education student at Appalachian State University. In addition to Elementary Education, I am also studying Spanish and Teaching English as a Second Language. I hope to one day teach ESL in an elementary school. I've lived in North Carolina all my life and have travelled considerably throughout the United States. I have also spent time in Canada and Costa Rica. I've found that while there are many different cultures in the world, we are all the same in many ways. It is my hope to increase appreciation of different cultures, especially Hispanic cultures. I am hopeful that I will be able to do this in an elementary classroom using literature to promote appreciation and awareness for cultures around the world. |
