| Introduction | I'm a writer and musician living in Brooklyn, interested primarily in jazz and improvised music, but also classical music--everything from Leonin to Ligetti. I studied saxophone and improvisation with the soprano player Bruce Ackley (of ROVA), and currently study composition with Edgar Grana. Spent an unforgettable afternoon with Steve Lacy in his apartment in Paris many years ago, a turning point. Music and writing are deeply linked for me; the practice of one informs and influences the practice of the other. |
