Introduction	'Gebrauchspianist' translates as 'useful pianist' or 'pianist for a purpose'. I'm an accompanist and, within the broadest definition of classical music, I do just about any kind of piano-playing work. Accompanying concerts, exams, auditions, opera rehearsals - and also coaching singers and instrumentalists who are learning new repertoire. It's fun and varied work and I flatter myself I'm not bad at it.
