Introduction	"Perhaps the earth was made round so we could not see so far down the road." (-Out of Africa) I love this quote--I think it fits my life and relevant to the lives of many other people in todays world. I grew up living on our family farm with my parents and grandparents who lived through many hard times. I enjoyed the hard work, often hearing my grandmother's favorite saying "a task is quickly done, if you think of it as fun." We used our imaginations, creativity and never felt a lack of needs. Yes, there was hard work, but the benefits of a lot of family, friends. We had the responsibility of numerous animals and learned an appreciation for the earth. A lot of lessons that I hope I have successfully shared with my children. Since, I have lived in many locations, met many interesting people, enjoyed many challenges along the way. There have been "ups and downs" And as many others today, when best laid plans changed, I remind myself of the quote, laugh, and figure out how I am going to turn "lemons into lemonade".
