| Introduction | Welcome to my blog. I am a bengali woman, a mother, a wife who has to juggle home, office and the kid. ( i have a 10 yr old son, who is a full time job.). In the hustle and bustle of life we often forget to or simply don't have enough time to ponder over our childhood delights. The memories of the sunlit courtyard of our ancestral home where we played with our siblings and a whole lot of cousins because ours was a joint family, the savouries that were cooked by the kakis, mashis, pishis, mom and of course thamma ( grandmother), the intricate plans we little ones used to make to steal 'aachaar' from thama's store, running around the garden in the scorching heat of the sun during summer hols to collect mangoes strewn around, the festivals, the ceremonies, the joy, the tears, the fear of exams and shielding each others from the elders' scoldings- all these come flooding whenever i have a chance to be alone. today's kids can never imagine the happiness we used to feel in collecting glass marbles or raw mangoes. Computers and electronics have afforded a lot of convinience but have taken away the innocence and the beauty of childhood days. |
