| Introduction | I am attracted by beauty in this world whether in a blossom, a tree, a sunrise, or even a face, and I am inspired to record that impression, often first revealed to me in the drama of a contrast of light and shadow. I am especially affected by misty distant shorelines and sunrises. I attempt to merge mood with atmosphere in my paintings, all with a minimum of strokes of color, which I hope to seamlessly blend on the paper, rather than on the palette. My desire is to remain true to the values and colors of nature, adjusting objects when needed, to make for the most pleasing compositions. |
