About me

Introduction	Why the name chakkavarratti? One bite of my grandmy's jackfruit jam ball takes me back to my childhood summer home at my dad's place . I am named after my grandmy. Chakkavarratti is my favorite,though I haven't made it or seen my grandmy make it. When we arrive at my grandparents house for summer,my grandmy takes these small black jackfruit Halva pops and gives a few to each of us kids and reserves the rest for the next family yet to arrive for their summer vacation. We try to sneak into the pathayam(store room) and try to get some more. I can keep writing on and on about chakkavarratti . A warm welcome to my kitchen . My aim:To spend minimum time in the kitchen and whip up delicious(it does not happen all the time),decent meals. In the process I have discovered dishes that can be made in a jiffy,one pot fish curries ,one pot or maybe two pot sambar ,one bowl cakes ,the list goes on. Still continuing the process of inventing fast ,easy meals. So here goes.....
