| Introduction | I am the daughter, the ex-wife ,and the mother of addicts. I am a woman, a medical professional, and I taught at one point in my life. I am also a wife and a mother, a grandma and a friend. I bake bread and have placed at State Fairs for canning and baking. One of my favorite places is the beach. My favorite commercials are LuLu and Lobo. I love my little dog Charlie. Clarity Sage is not my real name. I chose it because I cannot write this without hurting people or involving people that should remain anonymous. I am telling my story without any fictitious information. I just cannot reveal specific dates times and places with names because it could lead to someone's embarrassment or shame. That is not my intention. This is not a guide for understanding psychopathology. There is much in print about that, I am not psychologist or social worker and cannot give advice on what to do if you find yourself in my situation. This is not a new cure for the targets of an abuser. This is a real life accounting of what it is like to be in the clutches of a psychopath close to you. |
