Introduction	A clinical psychologist once asked me to describe my blog. I had no idea how to respond. I blathered for a bit before she saved me by summing up: "Oh...it's storytelling." I guess that works. These are the stories (and insights) of a woman...with a kid...and a dog...and a life...and a sense of humor...and a whole bunch of thoughts that need somewhere to land...so I write them here.
Interests	I sometimes tell people I'm a barista...because it's a much more approachable occupation than what I really do. You tell people you're a barista and they're like "ooh...I like coffee!"...you tell them you're a "financial management analyst" and they're like "um...oh." -- and they blink twice and then wander away in search of a barista -- or maybe a bartender. But that's just a resume...that's not who I am. I am...what?...happy and weird and nerdy and cool and thoughtful and expressive and silly and fun and serious and scary and nice and generous and open and perceptive and empathetic and creative and shy and outgoing. I am logical and contradictory. I am "Mom" to my Monkey. I am a regular chick to everyone else...I am....ugh...ok, I am resisting the urge to quote song lyrics, so I should stop before I lose my resolve. Tell you what...how about we say I'm an interesting person with interesting stuff to say... That should be incentive enough to read this silly thing, right?
Favorite music	Anything I can sing to...

You can whistle and steam can whistle, so why do you sing in the shower?

I actually can't whistle, so it's fortunate that I have the shower steam for all my whistley needs.
