| Introduction | Dheborah is a graduate from the West Australian School of Art, Design and Media. She is also a rural and remote area nurse and has travelled into inaccessible, remote areas of the Pacific with medical teams. Deborah was awarded the Dr Sagorin Paediatric prize and the Fellowship prize after graduating from Entabeni Hospital in Durban. She received the Rayanne Shield for the Most Outstanding Midwife and the Mavis Nash Cup at Pietermaritzburg's Greys Hospital. Dheborah was a Rotary and Asthma Foundation Scholarship winner and national finalist in the Australian Fashion Designer of the Year Awards in 2004. She was awarded the Supreme Technical Services Award on completion of the Advanced Diploma of Fashion and Textiles in 2004. She has shown garments at the Smales West Australian Fashion Awards, the Australian Wool Awards and Melbourne's Masters of Fashion. This New Zealand designer's life is trans-cultural, having lived also in South Africa and Western Australia. Dheborah has exhibited at the South West Survey art awards. Conflict and peace cross over with medicine, nature and fashion. She isn't particularly fond of celery but she will eat it if she has to. |
