| Introduction | Yannick Tona Ggyavilla Uzabumwana was born on the 24 of February 1990 in the Southern Province of Rwanda Butare, the second biggest city in Rwanda. Yannick is a survivor of the Rwandan genocide. Since his horrific experience he has been an advocate for raising awareness and action against genocide, as well as fighting for children’s human rights and youth. Involved in a number of organizations, RYCO, PLP Aegis Students/Trust, Yannick works within Rwanda to educate the world about the history of the Rwanda genocide that took place in 1994 in Rwanda. Through his volunteer work, Yannick aspires to bring meaning to the common phrase “never again” and prevent further atrocities, like the Rwandan genocide, from staining the history of humanity with the blood of innocent people. Yannick believes that the youth in the world at large are the key to resolving the challenges that threaten peace and to establishing harmony.
