| Introduction | I am not a finance guy or an economist. I'm just a middle-class American who realized early in my life that learning about money, finance, and economics would be important if I wanted to achieve financial independence, let alone be able to retire. I have been on a 20+ year journey in search of the truth about money and investing to achieve my goals. My Socrates Finance blog is written for people like me.. just trying to make a go of it. If you think it's too late for you to get started, it's not. Even if you do think it's too late, make sure your children learn and become well educated so they can achieve their goals. I will talk about various money, finance, and investing topics that have helped me on my journey as well as events that shape my current decisions. It's important that everyone, regardless of profession or economic class, be in control of their money and finances. If you are not in control then you are letting others be in control. Being in control of your money and finances will eventually bring you freedom. Money won't bring you happiness, but freedom will. |
