| Introduction | I am a Mt. Greylock High School graduate and have been accepted to Middlebury College where I will play soccer. I am thrilled about what lies ahead at Middlebury, but for this year, the 2012-2013 school year, I have deferred from college and instead prepared a gap year. Beginning in mid-August I will travel to Germany to live with family friends, play soccer, volunteer in a school, and travel. Following my four months in Germany, I will take a solo road trip down the Atlantic Coast-staying with friends, meeting new friends, and experiencing America outside New England. In Florida I plan on working at a WWOOF-affiliated farm before heading home. The spring will consist of work for my uncle Harry Scoble in Hamden, CT. These seemingly random adventures are planned in attempt to open my eyes to new people and ideas. My goals are to be outgoing, to take advantage of every opportunity, and to give a unique perspective through writing about what I encounter. |
