| Introduction | After graduation with honours in Physics from Cotton College and post-graduation in Economics from JNU, I did PhD in Gauhati University in 1992 on 'Industrialization in a Landlocked and Subsistence Agriculture Economy. I am interested in life and works of Srimanta Sankaradeva, who preached an egalitarian social outlook. An organization named 'Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva' was formed in 2011 to promote the legacy of the polymath. I have been heading it since inception. Majority of my books are on Srimanta Sankaradeva and his contributions. I have translated Srimanta Sankaradeva's Gunamala and Bargeets as well as Madhavadeva's Namghosha to English. I have written an English novel THE REDEEMER based on Srimanta Sankaradeva's life. There are 82 listings of my books in different libraries around the world. Universities of Chicago, Boston, Pennsylvania, Columbia, Emory, North Carolina, Texas, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Syracuse, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Washington, Stanford, Illinois, McMaster, Yale, Michigan, Free State, Toronto, Heidelberg etc have preserved my books in their libraries. I am an Expert Member in two international committees of International Council on Monuments and Sites. |
