Introduction	I have recently completed my two years of volunteer work in Uganda, East Africa. I lingered in Africa before returning home to the Philippines. Interests	I have more than 35 years experience in the banking sector, and concurrently, with almost 25 years experience as a wife (to Charlie) and mother of Mia, Yori and Gino (ages 24, 20, and 19). I could watch the years go by and continue to do well in my career for increase in prestige, compensation, and consequently financial retirement benefits in the next few years. And concurrently, I could grow older with my family and continue to do well in my domestic household responsibilities. At the same time, I could keep the comfort that the proximity of my friends provide, and the enjoyment of abundant goods and services that are available to city dwellers. I could create new challenges and experiences in familiar settings. But no. At this time in my life, I chose the path less taken by career executives, proud moms, and spoiled consumers. I am going to Uganda in East Africa to volunteer my services by sharing my skills - hopefully, to change lives. This blog will chronicle my intellectual, emotional, and physical journey.
