| Introduction | Family life takes so many twists and turns and my first blog, Phases of the Mooniers, is designed to follow the evolution of my interests along that journey. When my youngest daughter was born my life took quite a turn. I not only began to navigate the world of being a mom to a child with special needs, I purchased my first DSLR and began a love of photographing every moment. My personal blog morphed into a photographic journal. As my daughter grew and I encountered the need to research her health conditions, I came up with the idea that my teaching background in science would be a great way make a difference in the Williams Syndrome Community. Shortly after I began Understanding Williams Syndrome, to educate others about WS. The success of this blog has been overwhelmingly humbling and I hope to continue the journey to help others navigate the evolution of their own families just as I have. Blogging has opened many doors and exciting activities that I have had the opportunity to participate in including speaking engagements with the Williams Syndrome Association and collaborative authorship through the Williams Syndrome Center of Children's Hospital. |
