| Introduction | I attended David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN after graduating from Lee High School in Tyler, TX. I was fortunate enough to play baseball on scholarship while attending college. My senior year our team finished national runner-up in the NAIA College World Series with a record of 44-15. I was one of the captains on the team. Later that year I graduated from Lipscomb and began teaching. I taught and coached three years in Nashville. Then in 1974 my wife and I moved to West TN. I was employed as head basketball coach and teacher in Adamsville, Tennessee in 1974 until 1979 when I became principal of Adamsville High School, and served there for eighteen years. Prior to becoming principal I had earned my Master's degree from Memphis State University. Our school was recognized in 1987 as one of the Top Ten Schools in Tennessee. Later I was assistant director of schools for the McNairy County Board of Education for twelve years. I retired from the McNairy County School System after thirty-five years in June of 2009. |
