| Introduction | The Shadow was born as a radio host back in the 30's. Fans of the detective show loved the sinister voice and so the company that also published magazines with real detective stories and methods, hired a writer to create stories about the character of The Shadow, a mysterious being who aided the forces of law and order by bringing criminals to justice. Then along came the radio show which was a lesser version of the real Shadow, who continued in books.
