| Introduction | Sometimes I write stuff down and it turns into a blog post about my family members or my run-of-the-mill life. One of the most surprising thoughts I ever had was, "I can't believe no one else's life has come to a screeching halt this week" when my dad died. I still remember where I was sitting when I thought it. Two years later, the same thought popped up. It's noteworthy because everyone has a "screeching halt" time (or many) in their lives, and I'm just here to write about it. I also know knock-knock-jokes. |

All of the phone numbers have fallen out of your address book. Whose number do you look for first and why?
Well first, this has to be changed from "address book" to "phone", but I'm sure that's assumed and moot. The first number I would look for is that of one of the three siblings of mine who didn't inherit my parents' house number as their cell phone number. It's one of three phone numbers I have memorized.
