| Introduction | Many great friends and colleagues of mine were born in 1956. I feel quite honored to share that year with them.
I was an unusual child in usual circumstances, grown to adulthood trying to fit a mold not made for me. The signs were there, the reading, the theatre, the craft of writing and photography, shortly followed by video and digital media procreation. So finally after it is all said and done, I like many others live in a Jersey Shore world, but playing Prospero in The Tempest, crying:
Now my charms are all o'erthrown, And what strength I have's mine own, Which is most faint: now, 'tis true, I must be here confined by you. I cannot deny that although I write with a different muse, the world I live in is a part of me, and I enjoy its mundane pleasures at various times. I am, admittedly, a farm kid from Indiana. |
