IntroductionHello, I’m Budge Burgess and I explore the politics and personal consequences of human change. I'm Scottish, a former Probation Officer with over a quarter of a century of experience helping people change their lives. I'm now a full-time writer - fiction and non-fiction - engaged in writing a quartet of science fiction novels, developing a trilogy of crime novels, and producing short stories in various genres. I'm also working on a book about change ("The Stories You Don't Write"), although quite why I want to publish it is a question I keep asking myself. My website is a shop window for my work, acting as gateway to a series of blogs and my online apocalyptic novel, "Like Fleas on a Dog's Back". Visit my website for further details - www.budgeburgess.com - and feel free to contact me.
InterestsMy interests are chaotic: I disposed of my TV some time around 2004 - I watch crime drama and a range of films on my computer. I once kept abreast of rugby, football and cricket, but, apart from watching the odd game, rarely follow sport. I read - mainly non-fiction, the emphasis being on history, social sciences and natural sciences, politics and economics ... though I'm not as boring as that may sound. I write. I enjoy real ale and good company down the pub. I listen to radio drama and a range of music programmes. I walk on the beach, spend time looking at the sea, and daydream. And, once upon a time I was a reasonable cook ... but the stresses of raising (and cooking for) two daughters, one of whom decided she was a vegetarian, aged 6, kinda killed that interest. And you can find out more at the website.
Favorite moviesRashomon, All Quiet on the Western Front, Lord of the Rings, Casablanca, 24 Eyes, Amelie, and many, many more. In terms of TV - it's Red Dwarf, Game of Thrones, BBC Dickens' adaptations, Dr.Who, and any really good drama, comedy or science / history.
Favorite musicBach, Beethoven, Beatles, Blues, Jack Bruce, bagpipes, boogie woogie, and that's just some of the B's.
Favorite booksRagged Trousered Philanthropists, Down and Out in Paris and London, Lord of the Rings ... and, at some stage I'll get round to discussing a full list on the website.

Unlike a dog, how can a turtle ever be naked?

You've obviously never watched Eastern European porn.
