Introduction Discovered in an antique shop in Pueblo Colorado were eleven perfect little letters written by a woman named Anna Neff. They were addressed to her mother who lived in Knoxville Tennessee. I have found very little information on their family history other than that she was married to Walter Neff and her father, Edwin Ruthven Caine, was born in Ludlowville, New York, October 15, 1820, and died at Yankton, South Dakota, October 12, 1868. He was a gunner on the African cruiser Saratoga 1843-44, and later a merchant at Whitewater. His father was Irish, and his mother was English. Helen M. Gallt, wife of Edwin R. Caine, was born at Weedsport, New York, June 12, 1833, and died at Indianola, Nebraska, February 25, 1907. Her father was Scotch, and her mother of German ancestry.
