A Garden in Florida

Location	Alachua, Florida
Introduction	We live on 8 acres of land in Alachua County Florida. We began in a single wide mobile home on land with more weeds than grass, more sand than soil. The trees-oaks, sweetgum, hickory, pines, and magnolias were beautiful and we began planting azaleas and camillias around these. We also turned a boggy area into a 1/2 acre pond as well as adding a couple of small ponds for waterlilies. A vegetable garden was started the first year and has provided us with most of our produce. We finished building our house and moved in June of '96. We continue to plant and grow and enjoy life on this bit of earth that owns us.
