| Introduction | I grew up in Southern California as a sports-loving youth, and son of two hard-working immigrants from Gujarat, India. At the age of sixteen, I felt a calling to one day pursue a job with Major League Soccer (MLS) in New York City so I could create opportunities for people to gain as much benefit from football (soccer) as I had received. Fortunately, a few years later I secured my dream job with MLS and spent seven years spreading the beautiful game in the United States. I'm now over a decade into my next dream which is to help build the sports ecosystem in India, a country that is both familiar and foreign to me. I moved to India in 2009 and spent six years working as a football consultant in Delhi with Libero Sports and two years serving as CEO of a professional football club in Pune. I am now based in Mumbai running India's premier Sports Management Institute - the Global Institute of Sports Business - while still consulting for all areas of the industry.
