| Introduction | I live with my partner Richard and we have 2 boys Joshua and Lindsay and we have a beautiful daughter who unfortunately has been born with Hurler syndrome, also known as mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I), Hurler's disease. Basically, her body doesnt produce good enzymes to get rid of the bad enzymes out of her body. Due to this she has hearing loss, airway problems and has a kyphosis on her back (which is a lump at the base of her spine). Due to this disease it has delayed her slightly in reaching her milestones but with lots of determination I know she will catch up with time. She is a happy, smiley, contented and gorgeous little girl who can give the greatest smiles to light up your day. She is just like every other little baby of her age, and loves to play games with her brothers and be up to lots of mischief. She is what is known as very loveable and has been described as being a little miracle who has been born determined and fighting. |
