| Introduction | The Trumpet Magazine is our answer to the digital divide. Just as the Internet has changed how information is presented to people, it has also changed the degree to which people can create and present their own information. It’s not saying anything new to call the Net a vast or seemingly limitless information source. However, many are worried about the effect that the Internet appears to be having on traditional print news. In a unique case like the Trumpet, we struggle to balance the two – to be able to let our physically printed material complement the material we place online, and vice-versa. In this way, we encourage people to use this website to study the process of putting the paper together as well as gaining insights into the finished product. Above all, we hope that people can and do use the site as a resource for finding information they might not get elsewhere, and for ensuring that they can keep their own ideas circulating. |
