SCGS Brownies

Introduction	Guiding is a game — of adventure, of observation, of general knowledge, of ideas. Brownies play the game through a series of healthy and happy activities. The game becomes an educational course that teaches them how to lead a useful life. In line with the aim and principles of Guiding, SCGS Brownies are given training in the development of character and life skills so that they can be of service to the community and become responsible adults. Brownies are expected to keep the ‘Brownie Promise’ and the ‘Brownie Law’ and to ‘Lend A Hand’ at all times. During our meetings, Brownies play games, do gardening, sing, cook, have craft sessions and prepare the various levels of tests they have to take. Brownies are also invited to campfires and are given the opportunity to attend overnight camps. The Brownie program culminates in the exclusive Chief Commissioner’s Badge Award which assesses Brownies based on social, intellectual and character development.
